Since 2009, the Sydney Heart Team has been successfully treating some of the country’s most challenging heart patients, returning them to an excellent quality of life. Operating initially at RPA Hospital and now also at Macquarie University Hospital, our results are outstanding, including world firsts in minimally invasive treatment of heart disease including Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) and off-pump heart surgery.
Who we help
Where we work
Royal Prince Alfred Hospital
The Sydney Heart Team began its work as an interdisciplinary structural heart team at the RPA in 2009 and continues to have amongst the highest procedural volumes in the southern hemisphere.
Macquarie University Hospital
The Sydney Heart Team also consults and operates at Macquarie University Hospital. Through the hospital’s Heart Care Centre, the team is developing a cutting edge program, especially in TAVI and minimally invasive treatment of heart disease.
Sometimes we’re asked to do extraordinary or, or unprecedented things, and the case of Jack, a young 30-year-old man who was born with a complex congenital heart disease is a good example.
